James Laing

Purpose: I purpose to love God, my family and serve in
the most effective position to best further the mission of God in my generation.

Biography: James and Shanna have been married close to
10 years and they have two children; Carissa (3) and Jeremiah (8 months). James has been a student ministries Pastor and worship leader for the past 8 years in three very different contexts: a Nazarene church of 100, an Evangelical Free Church of 6000, and a Baptist Church of 400 people. He holds a BA in Religious Studies from Rocky Mountain College and an MA in Christian Education and Youth Ministry from Talbot School of Theology. Over the past year James has successfully transitioned students from a traditional Sunday School model to a service environment on Sunday mornings with most students plugging into an area of service. Shanna has been employed in administrative roles, managed a department in a medical equipment company, excelled at medical transcription and currently is thrilled with being a stay-at-home mom. They both look forward to being part of a new ministry in Ventura County.
